I really enjoyed this standalone!Jane was a very true to life and a very likeable character. With her unexpected and sudden success with her music, I love how she fought to continue on with this professional path as well as to move forward in her personal life and broken marriage as well. She didn't just wallow in self pity, and although she struggled with self-doubt just like anyone in her shoes would, she found the courage and confidence in continuing on. Of course, Jane also had her doubts regarding Matthew and his intentions, but she wasn't totally closed off to finding a new love and knew that she deserved it.
Matthew was just totally swoonworthy! Even though I obviously couldn't actually hear his Brittish accent, I must say that I am a total sucker in imagining him with one and he was just super sexy. His character very genuine, supportive, and unwavering. Personally, I think that everyone needs to find a Matthew in their life - I just loved him!
This was a unique storyline, and the perfect balance for me in wit and sexy and just completely refreshing. There was just enough angst to make the story believable yet still be a light hearted read, and such a lovely change of pace. I highly recommend!

The BreakUp Album edition by Lauren Blakely Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Jane Black has finally made it to the top by winning a Grammy! It was her fourth attempt at an album, and it took her husband leaving her to come up with a winner. When he admitted that he was gay, Jane lost it. How can this happen, they even have a six year old son. Her album Crushed, went all the way up in the charts. She even received an amazing review from the top music critic, Mathew. Now he wants to follow her for several weeks, as she plans to write her next album. Except, she has writers block. Jane finds Matthew extremely attractive, funny and smart. Their chemistry is unbelievable and she knows he feels the same way too. However, can she trust her feelings again, seeing that she was so wrong about her marriage.
I loved this book so much, but I would have liked an epilogue.
This is one the best books I have read in a while. I'd give it a 10 if I could. There is sex and language (it's about a rock star so...) and a HEA. I wanted to finish it in one sitting but due to a busy weekend I had to take the 3 nights I had. I loved the story and the characters The H/h were awesome, flawed but ultimately both great characters. The supporting characters were also interesting and blended with the story line very well. I'm not giving spoilers but the book had me holding my breath a few times as I made it though the chapters. SO. GOOD.
**I received an ARC in order to give an honest review**
Let me tell you about Lauren Blakely. She's amazing! She's smart, sweet, and really great with her fans. Know what else? She writes really wonderful stories. I simply adore her.
That being said, I was thrilled to receive an ARC of "Far Too Tempting", Lauren's latest novel to be released the week of October 21st. I am telling you right now...You. Will. Need. To. Get. This. Book.
It's not my policy to give away spoilers in my reviews. I'll give you a bare bones description.
Jane has written and released the perfect break up album. How could she not, with the hand that she'd been dealt? Now, it's time for a follow up, and Jane's needing a bit of inspiration. Enter Matthew, a music critic for a popular magazine. He loved the album and reviewed it well. He wants to do an in depth piece about Jane, her creative process, and her new album. Did I mention that Matthew is drop dead gorgeous...and British with a panty melting accent?
But I digress. I'm sure that you can imagine the rest...and your imagination would not even begin to cover how beautifully (and hot!) the story progresses. What Ms. Blakley gives the reader is a well written, perfectly paced, gradual love story that will melt your heart and make you believe that there really is someone out there for everyone, and that a shared passion can be the perfect way to find each other.
"Far Too Tempting" is pitch perfect (Get it? Music reference? Hehe. What? Not very funny? Oh well. Sigh...). It's a book that, once you start, you won't want to stand up until you've finished. Personally? I prepared a pot of coffee, propped up the pillows on my bed, settled in, and stayed there until the very end. The hubs had to fend for himself for dinner because I wasn't cooking anything that night. The characters are strong and written so that you feel you're actually in their heads. The little details that are included help you to start painting images in your head about the music industry and the, sometimes difficult, process when you're trying to come up with a really great song. The satellite characters are great too. Jane has a very supportive friend, and a sweet, and maybe too smart for his own good, son that you will fall in love with.
There is some angst. I know that every book needs some to move the story along, but there aren't pages upon pages of it. Books like that make me want to tear my hair out, and Ms. Blakley's always leaves me with my mane intact.
To sum it all up, "Far Too Tempting" left me feeling warm, and I had a big smile on my face. I was completely satisfied and feeling lucky enough to be able to have read it. Please trust me when I tell you to READ IT!! You won't be disappointed.
